Bedside ecography in the approach and handling of shock
Abstract
Shock is a life-threatening condition that must be diagnosed accurately and quickly. The use of Point-of-care Ultrasound (POCUS) has enhanced the approach to this clinical entity and has proven superior to strategies based solely on clinical examination. Ultrasound enables the detection of complex clinical scenarios, such as cardiac tamponade, and is a valuable tool in initiating and titrating therapies using variables that can be obtained through this method, such as cardiac output. This review aims to propose an organized approach to diagnosis and management based on available evidence
