Acta Médica Colombiana's Commitment to Open Access
AMC reaffirms its commitment to the principles of Diamond Open Access, ensuring that all our content is freely available to readers and authors, without economic barriers or access restrictions. This commitment reflects our mission to promote the dissemination of scientific knowledge for the benefit of the academic community and society in general.
Fundamental principles of open access
1. Free and universal access: All articles published in our journal are freely available for consultation, download and distribution, without requiring subscription or access payments.
2. No charge for authors: AMC does not charge for processing, evaluation, publication or any other concept related to the articles submitted to the journal. This guarantees that our editorial work is not conditioned by economic interests.
3. Open licenses: AMC publishes under the Creative Commons BY-SA-4 license that supports non-commercial use and ethical reuse of content, promoting transparency and the exchange of knowledge.
Non-commercial nature
AMC is a non-profit publication. Our primary goal is to contribute to the advancement of medical and scientific knowledge, not to generate economic income. Although we currently use a ".com" domain for historical and technical reasons, this does not reflect a commercial orientation. We are committed to staying aligned with the best practices of Diamond Open Access, including the possibility of migrating to a domain more in line with our non-commercial nature.
Continued commitment
We will continue to strengthen our editorial policies to meet the criteria established by indexes such as Redalyc, DOAJ and other Open Access references. In addition, we are open to collaborating with initiatives that promote the sustainability of the open access model and ensure that scientific knowledge is a global public good.
We invite our readers, authors and collaborators to join us in this effort to democratize access to medical knowledge, thus reaffirming our commitment to open, inclusive and accessible science for all.
