Congenital atrioventricular block and pregnancy: What to do with the pacemaker?
Abstract
The congenital atrioventricular block (CAVB) is an AV node lesion that produces alteration in the transmission of atrial impulses to the ventricles that may be manifested clinically before or after birth. This condition is rare in pregnant women; however, this can vary because nowadays heart defects are corrected surgically more frequently and pacemakers are implanted earlier. We present a case of a pregnant woman with CAVB, and discuss pacemaker management in this group of patientsMetrics
